What do Blues and Halloween have in common? To assist one in answering this question bluesInternet has harvested a list of songs. The likes of which deal with bad luck, black cats, spells, superstitions, hellhounds, hoodoo and voodoo.

So look through the list and dig through your blues collection. Then dust off the discs and give listen to some good ol' black magic. Oh. Click on the Sweet Daddy Hawk cd cover for a sound clip of Screamin' Jay Hawkins singing "I Put A Spell On You."

I'm Gonna Hoodoo You Sarah Martin Voodoo Screamin' Jay Hawkins

Screamin' Jay Hawkins, although not blues, can come mighty close to the spirit of the genre. In any case, his unique musical stylings have become somewhat of a standard for spellcasting spooks, ghouls and gobblins during the Halloween season. With alblums such as "Voodoo Jive" and "Spellbound," both best of complilations, Hawkins continued to put a spell on his listeners. Other Sweet Daddy Hawk songs that fit this list are "You Put The Spell On Me," "Voodoo," "She Put The Whamee On Me," "The Whammy" and "Little Demon."
